What is healthy campus all about?
The healthy campus initiative has been developed to provide you with the resources to make the best decisions about your health. This year for the first time we have brought our resources together to provide an online community of health experts providing you with regular updates and the opportunity to help direct the agenda. We have set up this blog, along with a Facebook page and twitter feed so you can interact with us and share the healthy campus message.
We’ve pooled a group of health and well-being experts to provide up-to-date and reliable information on a range of health matters.
Regular updates on student health issues
Each month one of our experts will produce a blog article on a key student health issue. The topics will range from issues such as freshers flu, sexual health and exam stress to travel health, exercise and curing your hangover.
Your voice matters
In addition to the key monthly theme, our team will listen and respond to requests from the student body on different health matters and write more blog posts. This is your chance to contribute to the healthy campus community.
Getting the student body talking
Each month we will host a twitter chat to give you the opportunity to discuss health topics and ask the experts about health and well-being. You can also contribute to our Facebook page and events.
Healthy campus events
There are a number of healthy campus events that run throughout the year, including the popular healthy campus week. Events include pub quizzes on sexual health matter, talks on keeping healthy on your year abroad, freshers intro week fair, sports sessions and much more.
Our first theme this month will be self care, including looking after freshers flu. This will support national Self Care Week: 16th – 22nd November 2015.
